The National Funeral Directors Association (NFDA) has been a leading voice in the Australian funeral industry since 1995.
The mission of the National Funeral Directors Association of Australia (NFDA) is to provide a national forum to broaden the knowledge, professionalism and business excellence of Association members and other Australian funeral directors through the exchange of ideas, information and experiences.
The NFDA fosters a forum for discussion and serves as a hub for networking and collaboration, offering members opportunities to benefit from advantages such as ethics, training, membership, compliance, and cooperative interaction.
RASAID - a place where all are welcome and all relationships are honoured and respected.
We are a group of families from the Ryde area of Sydney, concerned by the lack of disability housing options in New South Wales. After decades of caring for our children with intellectual disabilities, we faced the challenges of aging without a solution for their future independence. Our children, aged 21 to 50, were at a stage where they desired independence but had no options. Meanwhile, their siblings were starting families and careers, yet we continued to provide round-the-clock care.
The disability sector was in crisis, with group homes available only in emergency situations, often in distant locations. Families faced the heartbreaking reality of their loved ones being sent to unfamiliar places, losing community ties, and facing isolation.
In October 2004, we came together, determined to prevent this fate for our children. While it took twelve years to achieve our goal, we hope our efforts have paved the way for others, with our model adaptable to suit individual needs.
The DANII Foundation was formed in 2012 after the tragic unnecessary death of Type One Diabetic (T1D), Daniella Meads Barlow at the age of 17 as a result of nocturnal hypoglycaemia, Dead in Bed Syndrome (DIBS). DANII is Australia’s pre-eminent foundation for the prevention of life threatening Dead in Bed Syndrome (DIBS) and the only organisation dedicated solely to the improvement of the safety and quality of the lives of T1D’s. As a result of this focus, DANII has established an Australia wide consumer campaign to make life-saving remote alert technology for T1D’s affordable and as a result reduce unnecessary complications and complex morbidity associated with poorly managed T1D.
Vision
A world where people with type 1 diabetes live without fear of never waking up.
Mission
To make affordable, life-saving alert technology a reality for people living with type ONE diabetes.
To educate the wider public and advocate for the type ONE community.
Values
Innovative, compassionate,
inspirational, caring, driven, brave.
The annual Make a Stand walk acknowledges the commencement of the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence annual international campaign.
Kicking off with the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women on 25 November, the campaign runs until Human Rights Day on 10 December 2024.
The Eisteddfod was established in 1988 by Ryde City Council and handed over to a volunteer team in 1990, with great support from Ryde City Council, both in the provision of venues and in direct sponsorship. Because of generous donations by businesses, clubs and individuals from Ryde and the wider Sydney region the Eisteddfod awards valuable prizes and scholarships in its five discipline areas.
The Eisteddfod includes a Seniors section (50 plus) for older members of the community, emphasis on entertainment as well as excellence.
The Eisteddfod is a non-profit, volunteer-run organisation which consists of a Committee and a large band of helpers. This is an exciting community initiative - please follow the links to the Volunteers pages if you would like to know more about being involved.
